What a (Greek) Tragedy! Greek tragedies continue to inspire us, to teach us about human frailty and nature. In this workshop, we'll be guided through the dramatic techniques of Greek tragedy, the bold storytelling, the intense emotion and the power of the chorus. We'll explore fate, hubris and catharsis, invoke the gods and let fate decide where the story takes us! Let's embrace the tragic and the epic. WORKSHOP - Theatre Language: English Levels: IN + AV/PF IN - BEGINNER IN IMPRO: People who already have some experience with Impro courses and/or performances. Day/Time: 25/07 (Friday) from 09:00 to 12:00 Location: Alcântara Library About Billy Kissa: After graduating from drama school, she found her place in the arts in improvisation. As a teacher, she adapts her teaching to the needs of each group and individual. She firmly believes in offering the space and time each student needs to feel comfortable and safe, allowing them to find their own voice as performers. By combining different acting techniques, her classes provide a complete approach to theater and acting. As an actress, she bases her performances on honesty and vulnerability. Regardless of genre, she draws inspiration from her life and people's stories. As someone driven by emotions, she approaches each story and character with respect and empathy. He always doubts his perspective and asks questions about human nature. He doesn't believe in a “universal truth”, but he does believe in the need for it and the journey we go on because of that search. As a director, I treat improvised and scripted work in the same way: as theater. Her training in scripted theater has been essential to the way she directs improvised shows. Aesthetics, commitment, risk and honesty are her main focuses and guides.
AV/PF - ADVANCED/PROFESSIONAL IN IMPRO: People with a few years' experience and/or a career in Impro.
