With Absolute Elsewhere, their most recent and ambitious work, acclaimed by a diverse range of publications including The Wire, Kerrang!, Pitchfork, and The Quietus — which called it the most “significant” death metal album since Morbid Angel’s classic Altars of Madness (1989) — the band delivers a truly transcendent and breathtaking sonic experience.
Expanding on the cosmic landscapes drawn in albums like Starspawn and the widely praised Hidden History of the Human Race, Blood Incantation return with a bold and hypnotic new chapter, firmly establishing themselves as one of the most creative and unclassifiable forces not only in the metal realm but in contemporary music as a whole.
Our voyage into the dark and complex cosmos of Blood Incantation is now confirmed: it takes place on Saturday, October 18, at Music Station, Lisbon — a one-off date in Portugal.
To make the night even more special, Author & Punisher will open the evening, marking their long-awaited return to Portugal since Amplifest 2019. Led by Tristan Shone, who designs and performs with self-built machines, controllers, and speakers — which he calls Drone Machines — his music is deeply inspired by industrial automation, robotics, and mechanical tools, exploring the sensuality of the interaction between body and machine. Author & Punisher celebrates two decades of dedication to his craft — inventing, engineering, experimenting, and meticulously creating custom instruments for his powerful live performances.
