Sao Paulo-based carnival collective takes over our famed celebration of Brazilian musical culture. Led by saxophonist Thiago França - founding member of Afro-punk pioneers Metá Metá - Espetacular Charanga do França started as a political act turning Sao Paulo into a revelation of Brazilian carnival in full brass-band form. Reclaiming their streets and celebrating the countries radical musical roots and culture, they bring a euphoric, high-energy celebration of rhythm, resistance and cultural pride.
