Alana Jackson: Work In Progress

THE SHOW

Alana Jackson, winner of So You Think You’re Funny? 2024, brings her work-in-progress show to Monkey Barrel in Edinburgh. A proud Glaswegian now based in London, Alana explores the cultural differences between Scotland and England in her sharp, unapologetic style.

 

Her winning set at So You Think You’re Funny? was described by Chortle as “relatable and witty, told with impact and flair” with Fest Mag praising how she “delivered with an amiability reminiscent of a good friend down the pub”. Since her win, Alana has also gone viral with her hilarious video on Glasgow funerals.

 

Join her as she tries out some new material in preparation for Edinburgh Fringe 2025.

MONKEY BARREL COMEDY

Monkey Barrel Comedy has been ‘Scotland’s Best Comedy Venue’ since 2020 (Chortle Awards) and was described by The List as “a year-round Edinburgh institution”. It has over 500 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor, making it one of the city’s top-rated year-round attractions.

DRINKS & MORE

Our adjoining bar, Barrel Bar, is open from 3pm on Fridays, 1pm on Saturday and at least 1 hour before every show every other day. It serves a wide selection of drinks, including locally-sourced beers, cocktails, and spirits.
