The Odyssey: Epic Poetry as a Means of Transformation Explore The Odyssey as a gateway to epic and imaginative storytelling. This workshop transforms Homeric poetry into a dynamic tool for improvisation, helping performers to embody mythical worlds, larger-than-life characters and deeper narratives. Through movement, voice and group play, participants will create immersive and poetic realities, making the legendary feel alive on stage. WORKSHOP - Theatre Language: English Levels: AG+IN+AV/PF Day/Time: 24/07 (Thursday) from 14:00 to 17:00 Location: Alcântara Library About Maro Lesioti: Maro Lesioti is a dedicated actress, improviser, director, musician and teacher. She studied at the Hellenic Conservatory, the Modern Times Drama School and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Soon after graduating, she starred in the plays: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (2023), EXTREMITIES (2023), THE LAST BIRD (2023-2024), and WHITE ROSE (2024). She is the producer of Nights of Improvisation and one of the artistic directors of the Worlds Apart Residency. She is also a board member of the ImproSynthesis School of Improv (Athens, Greece) and co-artistic director of the I.TH.A.C.A. Improv Festival, which will take place for the first time in Athens in June 2025.
AG - ARTISTS IN GENERAL: Professional Artists or Artists in Training with no specific Impro experience.
IN - IMPRO BEGINNER: People who already have some experience with Impro courses and/or performances.
AV/PF - ADVANCED/PROFESSIONAL IN IMPRO: People with a few years' experience and/or a career in Impro.

In 2018, she founded the improvisation group Raining Cats And Bats (THE VILLAGE, INTERROGATION), which has participated in several international festivals. She is the creator and director of the formats EDMOND-JEAN-WILLIAM, HIERONYMUS BOSCH, CHORUS, WORLDS APART, KALEIDOSCOPE and MEMORIES.
As a teacher, she has been teaching improvisation and theatre workshops since 2020 in Greece, the USA, the Netherlands and Italy, fostering creativity in artists of all levels and abilities by focusing on the needs of each individual.
